Late morning on Wednesday 29th June 2011, eleven highly ranked and well decorated officials from the Indian police force from various parts of India had come to visit Shree Swaminarayan Temple and Shree Swaminarayan Art Gallery in Bolton. The officials are part of a large 120 strong group from India who are visiting various parts of the UK to train, share and exchange best practices and explore cultural similarities and differences with their counterparts in the British police forces around the country. Just before 11:30 am, the officials arrived accompanied by members of the local Bolton police force.
The Sants of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi and members of Shree Swaminarayan Temple Bolton explain the importance and the multitude of positive benefits of the many local and widespread community activities that members of the temple have dedicated themselves towards.
The group took the opportunity to admire many of the wonderful ceiling artworks of Shree Swaminarayan Art Gallery depicting the various episodes of Lord Swaminarayan, Shree Jeevanpran Bapashree and Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa.
The officials spoke briefly about their work and the positive impact they hope their visit will have both for the police force here, and improvements in India.
The Sants of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi chanted sacred verses as they tie the sacred red thread around the right wrist of each official and offered prasad.
